A group of S2S students had the opportunity to visit AUST University and learn about the field of forensic criminology. The students were first given an overview of the discipline, which combines the study of law, psychology, and scientific investigative techniques to help solve crimes. They were then taken to the university's state-of-the-art forensics lab, where they were shown a recreation of a crime scene, complete with a mock "victim" - a realistic-looking mannequin used for training purposes. The students were able to examine the body and discuss the various clues and evidence that forensic investigators would collect at such a scene. Finally, they were introduced to the different departments within the forensics program and learned how each plays a crucial role in piecing together the details of a criminal investigation. It was an eye-opening experience that left the students eager to learn more about this important field.
