This year, my friends and I joined our first ever models : Model European Union (MEU) and Model United Nations (MUN). As delegates, we represented the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Bulgaria and the Islamic Republic of Iran by playing the roles of presidents, prime ministers and committees. Role playing was a big challenge for us because we do share different point of views and beliefs.
However, with the help of our advisors Lynn Hamdar (grade 12 student), Mira Noureddine (grade 12 student), Joey Berbery (alumni 2018) and Mrs. Samar Andraos, everything was possible! We spent days preparing, working, doing heavy research and writing position papers… and our hard work paid off! This amazing experience taught us how to stand, speak, deal with others, delegate, deliberate, give speeches and many other hard and soft skills that we would never have gained without MEU and MUN. When I look back at our paperworks, pictures and certifications, I do remember every laugh and every tear with the extraordinary people I met. This experience will always stand out as our greatest achievement and here we are, ready, for the upcoming challenges!
As a strong team, we are proud of our friend Judy Hatoum who won the position paper award MEU/LAU.
